WHO WE ARE

The Mairura Family Foundation, created in 2022, is a 501 (c)(3) public charity that aims to reduce gaps in healthcare disparity by giving access to health care and providing education and resources to underserved populations globally.

Since its inception, The Mairura Family Foundation has donated over $200,000 (greater than 28 million Ksh) of medical equipment to serve the less fortunate at places like Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi and University of Nairobi department of orthopaedics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they helped create access to masks for over 1,000 students at Otamba primary school and Nyabite Primary School in Kisii County.

In 2024, The Mairura Family Foundation transitioned from not only donations but carrying out an orthopaedic surgical medical mission to serve patients at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital. The medical mission assembled a team of American orthopaedic surgeons, a technical team of medical equipment representatives from world renown orthopaedic medical equipment companies, a full team of nursing experts, and physician assistants.

The team of medical providers provided orthopaedic consultations and carried out quality of life and life-changing orthopaedic surgical operations from August 26 -30 for the undeserved people in Kisii County in Kenya. They performed orthopaedic surgical operations and provided medical services for people afflicted by orthopaedic injuries such as long bone fractures, elective procedures such as, joint replacement involving the hip, and knee.
